About — a little background

About Me

I’m Max, a high-school student working on websites, AI tools, and audio software. This site brings those interests together, along with a timeline of what I’ve built and learned since ninth grade.

I like making things I can use, then staying with them long enough to make them work well.

That has led me from websites to desktop tools, audio software, and the server running this page. I build with AI agents and spend a lot of time checking, listening, and figuring out what still needs work.

You’ll find the projects here, a timeline going back to ninth grade, and the music I write and mix, played through a player I built. Some things are finished; plenty are still taking shape.

(01) — School

What I’m studying

I’m taking AP Calculus AB, Statistics, and Microeconomics. I keep notes by topic, including worked problems and the mistakes I made, so I have something useful to come back to.

Some of that learning carries into my projects. Statistics is especially useful when an audio test gives me a result I can’t reproduce.

(02) — Projects

Building for other people

I’ve built a website for a semiconductor company, a portfolio for a visual artist, a daily briefing site, and this one. Working on something another person uses has taught me to look beyond the first working version.

There is also the less visible work: keeping the sites running, checking updates, and making sure I can undo a change if it breaks something.

(03) — Process

Working with AI

AI agents are part of how I build almost everything here. I often have several working at once, which means I need to be clear about the task, who is changing what, and how we’ll check the result.

I write those instructions down and revise them when they don’t work. The Skills page shares the setup, including a few mistakes that changed how I use it.

(04) — Sound

Listening, then adjusting

I write and mix my own music in FL Studio — the tracks, demos and samples on the Sound page are all mine. I’ve also worked on the software behind that page: its music library, player, and DJ console, from getting audio into the library to changing pitch and adding reverb in the browser.

A lot of the work comes down to listening closely: a click when a knob moves, a bass note that loses its shape, or an effect that sounds fine on one track and wrong on the next.

A few habits

How I work

Lately

Currently

  • Brief went live in September 2026. It turns a bot’s daily digest into a site you can read in Chinese or English.
  • Working on a way for AI agents to share project notes and progress, so the next agent can pick up where the last one stopped.
  • Refining the browser DJ console, especially how pitch changes sound while you turn the knob.
  • Studying AP Calculus toward the May 2027 exam.
